hi,

i have this issue wich i can't seem to resolve.

i'm trying to launch an online game with sandboxie, but it keeps telling me "SBIE2106 Please enable "Run As UAC Administrator" in Sandboxie Control, File menu " (http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?SBIE2106)

so i went to the shortcut, rigth mouse click, properties, advanced, run as administrator..check

closed the program, rebooted pc (just to be sure) and tried again same problem

it starts the game, but as soon as i click to play, as in connect to the game server it gives me this error.

i installed the game in the sandbox, tho it gave me an error at the last part, the game apears to be installed not really sure what the problem is.

anyone have an idea?? if this isn't in the right topic, i appologize in advance

with kind regards

On Vista computers, "Run as .. Administrator" appears on the Sandboxie menu.
Right-click the Sandboxie tray icon > Show Window > File > Run as ....

@tzuk,
The link for "Run As UAC Administrator" on the SBIE2106 page doesn't work.

i have the 3.34 don't see any newer version on the website. and i double checked it does not have the option run as ... in any menu... not in file, view, sandbox, configure or help.

so could anyone pls tell me how i can get this thing to work please.

or is running a program something you'd have to have the paid version for?

hi again

okay so as suggested, took the new version, deleted the older one, ... rebooted, and it still isn't there. i even made a screenie, am i looking at the wrong place? because really I'm not getting any step closer to any solution Sad

i do have the UAC disabled, so it shouldn't be asking it in the first place, and i also have the program set to run as administrator through the shortcut (properties/advanced/run as admin). I also have the program which i try to run through sandboxie set to run as admin same way (properties/...)

i hope i don't have to enable UAC to make this stuff work:(

salix, the Run As UAC Administrator command is there even in version 3.34, but it appears only if UAC is enabled.

As for the problem. The program you are running is probably trying to "Run as administrator" some of its components. In version 3.34 that was not supported so you get the error. I realize now that I should have accounted for the case when UAC is disabled, and treat "Run as administrator" as a plain "Run" and allow it.

In any case I've revised version 3.35.13 to handle "Run as administrator" so that version may fix your problem. Give it a try please.

And finally,

hi,

i installed the 3.35.13 version, but the problem remains. the game i'm trying to run is redstone (perhaps so u could check out why this out of everything else refuses to work.)

thx for all the feedback by everyone tho, a caring community is a nice thing.

OK. I'll try to fix that for the next version so the change to allow a sandboxed "Run as administrator" works even when UAC is disabled. Please check back in a few days.

I think I've resolved the problem but I'm not ready yet to release the next version. I'm sorry, you'll have to wait a bit longer.

The "Check for Updates" command is only for official releases, not beta versions.
You'll have to look here:
http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=4985

Please try version 3.35.14 and tell me if it resolves your problem.
