Error 267 means "the directory name is invalid" which is a curious error here. Did you install Sandboxie into the default Program Files location or did you choose some other location?

Sandboxie installed into default directory - C:\Program Files\Sandboxie Which directory is invalid? RpcSs.exe?? If it is a problem with Sandboxie, I could uninstall and then reinstall (better than reinstalling over existing version??). Is there a way to uninstall and reinstall without losing my Sandboxie settings, sandboxes + their settings etc, etc. Please see my other reported problem "Problems Running Programs in sandbox". I have just gone back to Sandboxie v 3.34 and this installation problem has gone away. Problem with v 3.36?? Conflict with Vista?? |

I use Vista Ultimate and Sandboxie v 3.36.04
This is a recent problem. Certainly did not exist with v 3.34. Not sure if this is the first time I have tried to run a program in v 3.36.04?? When I try to run a program sandboxed (eg Skype) 3 sandboxie programs start up, viz: Start.exe SandboxieRpcSS.exe SandboxieDcomLaunch.exe but nothing further happens. Skype does not start. I tried reinstalling Sandboxie 3.36.04 (did not unistall first - just installed over old version) but problem was still there. I have gone back to Sandboxie v 3.34 and everything works fine. A problem with v 3.36?? I s this connected with my other reported problem - "Problems installing in Sandbox"?? |

So now that's three topics to say you're having problems in version 3.36. On which one do we talk?

Sorry. Did not mean to be difficult. I thought that it would be easier to bring the two previous posts together as I am fairly sure that they are related. Suggest that we use this post. These comments about 3.36.04 are made by a Sandboxie supporter (recently upgraded to a paid licence). I want to sort out the problems so that I can return to 3.36. Over to you. Thanks for your help. |

Using Sandboxie 3.37.06, I can't reproduce -- I downloaded and installed that "Recuva" into a sandbox on Windows Vista without any problems.
Do you use any HIPS software? |

I tried recuva, ccleaner and defraggler. Work all fine installed in Sandbox.

I tried to install Recuva in a clean sandbox (ie one just created with the default settings) and all OK.
Problem was mine in terms of settings I had created in my sandbox. Found wrong setting and all now works. Many thanks for your help. Sorry to waste your time. |

As it happens I was able to reproduce error 267. In my situation, it was caused when Sandboxie Control happened to start in some particular directory. And that directory happened to be a ClosedFilePath in some other sandbox. So when running anything in the other sandbox, I got error 267 on SandboxieRpcSs.
Version 3.37.08 should fix that particular instance of the error. |
