XP SP3, A-Squared paid, Online Armor beta Premium 4.0.0.7(now .11), no other active anti-malware. MBAM free on-demand. Sbie beta 3.41.3/.4/.5 (100% clean install after, CCleaner/defrag). IE7 & OE6.

The Good over 3.40 (had to go back to 3.3Cool!-
1. IE7 Is no longer asking for PageRank(2 computers, a! Very Happy
2. Immediately Recognized A2 & OA on install, & Add to security- Now Shows Two little dashes instead of the former * ? Question
3. A2 is now protecting within sbie (notifies/blocks bad web pages, that it didn't before)! Very Happy

The BAD!?-
1. IE7 takes 1min+30sec to open vs 3sec un-sandboxed, and OE6 takes 1 min to open vs 1 sec un-sandboxed (both ticked in Applications...)!? Surfing is fast once finally opened. Surprised

a. Exit Background Guard in A2- Still same Slow. Restart.
b. FIX, ShutDown OA?- sbie IE7 opens in 4sec, and OE6 opens in 2sec (same as 3.38 ) ! Shocked

If you need me to try something?- Please let me know?

G'day

Scott

After surfing for awhile- Pages open slowly in IE7.

Cannot access Windows Media Player from OE6 (couldn't find a setting?), and Adobe PDF is slow opening (allowed in settings). Other external reading applications applications are Slow opening (WinmailReader.exe, and cannot figure out how to add an sbie setting?)!

Please don't present a long list of short mentions of things that don't work right. I'm more comfortable focusing on one thing at a time.

Was this slowdown also there in version 3.40,
or is it something new in version 3.40.03 ?

Sorry if I "muddied the waters", with to much info- I was just trying to let you know what's working for me(A2), and what's not.

3.40 was fast opening/using, but had a PageRank issue I couldn't live with( another Post/unresloved).

~~~
My issue with 3.40.03-
3.40.03 is VERY slow opening (fast with OA shutdown), and new links to web pages open slowly too.
I can't live with this, so if there is something you want me to do?- Please let me know ASAP!?
You're saying there's a new conflict with Online Armor? Because when you close Online Armor then Sandboxie works fine?
OK, so which version of Online Armor?
Yes, when I close/shutdown OA beta 4.0.0.7, sbie is fast.
Q?- Would you like me to make a bug report/detailed event logs, on my OA beta testers forum? Question
I tried Sandboxie + Online Armor 4 beta free but unfortunately I was unable to reproduce any slowdowns. Any advice for me?
Can I just point out that Online Armor 4.0.0.10 has been officially released as of yesterday so I would recommend ensuring you are running this latest and not a .7 beta build Smile
I uninstalled my old OA "Premium/paid"beta...07, and sbie 3.41.03. Thorough file/reg cleanup ...
I will 100% clean install latest OA ...10, and give sbie 3.41.04 a try?
Q?- Would you suggest that I install OA, or sbie first? Question
I installed Sandboxie first when I tested, but I'm not sure the order makes any difference. Good luck!
I uninstalled OA 4.0.0.7, and sbie. CCleaner/defrag/chkdsk.
Reinstalled sbie 3.41.04, no settings import.
Installed Online Armor beta 4.0.0.10 Premium, no settings import.
sbie IE7 now takes 2min to open (web pages load in 1min)
It then shuts down OA taskbar icons, and 2 firewalls show On in Security Center. Sad
A2 is protecting good in sbie! Smile
shutdown OA, and sbie opens in 3sec (web pages load FAST!)! Surprised
Appears to be an OA conflict...?- I will file a bug report with OA, with detailed debug logs.
Scott Question
I need to go back to 3.8, even if A2 doesn't scan from within- Its fast, and I auto-delete all files on closing.
Q?- Do I need to pre-uninstall 3.41.05, or can I just upgrade install 3.8?
Scott ?
I upgrade installed back to 3.38(fast), but now sbie has a pop-up box that says Question -
"SBIE1411 Sandbox TemplateSettings specifies unknown template A2AntiMalware"
I clicked on Help, but was unable to login to the sbiewiki..., using my forum username/pw setting.
Q?- Is there anything that I can do to add A2... to 3.38...?
Go to Configure > Software Compatibility and remove the support for A2. It might get rid of this problem. Otherwise you will need to do a full un-install of versrion 3.41+ and then a fresh new installation of Sandboxie 3.38.
Version 3.38 cannot resolve your problem with a2.
I would rather we figure out the problem with Online Armor. Perhaps you can think of any special settings you have in Online Armor that might have an effect here? Are your programs set in any special way in Online Armor? Does it happen if you also run notepad.exe or calc.exe? (Assuming notepad.exe and calc.exe are not configured in Online Armor in some way.)
Tzuk:
ctrlaltdelete tried 3.41.05 on the online armor beta forum, and has the same slowdown issue
4.0.0.10 [XP] last page (lots of history...)
http://support.tallemu.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=10716
Note: A2 Premium has a free 30 day free trial, if you'd like to test with the exact same setup from your end, and you can also get a free OA beta tester key from Mike (register it first!)?-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installed sbie beta 3.41.5 on top and had the same problem you have.
Very slow, even starting IE8 and browsing my favorites is slow.
Small webpages i made myself are taking 5 or 6 seconds to fully open.
Manually added some things to exclude in AM & OA but that didn't solve it.
Uninstalled 3.41.5, reboot, installed 3.40 (with OA and AM active) and all is fine again, no more slowdowns here.
Maybe i try again later today and remove the a-squared template from sbie 3.41.5 config file. Forgot to test that...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BTW-
Being that I have to uninstall sbie anyway- I upgrade installed back to 3.41.05 to run your Notepad/calc test?- Notepad/calc took 45sec to open sandboxed, and 1/2sec regular.
Q?- What version of OA free did you use that worked good with sbie beta?
