danmayer I'm glad to hear the original problem is now resolved. Thanks for checking.

As for Disabled Forced Programs -- how exactly do you start Firefox under Sandboxie? If you click the Sandboxed Web Browser shortcut (or similar shortcut that works through Sandboxie) then Disabled Forced Programs is not going to have an effect on such shortcuts.

I've added Firefox to forced programs, so I'm starting it the usual way by clicking on the nonsandboxed icon of Firefox.

How about if you remove Firefox from Sandbox Settings > Program Start > Forced Programs?
Does that make a difference?

Yes it does.
After disabling Firefox from Forced Programs I was eable to start Firefox outside of SBIE.
But, the Forced Programs feature is very helpful.

I hope it can be fixed soon.

Thanks,

Dan

I'm not sure what to fix because I can't reproduce the problem. Perhaps you disable forced programs and then also close Sandboxie Control? That would cancel the disable forced programs. In any case you can use the new method to run a program sandboxed:

Hold Ctrl+Shift while you right-click Run Sandboxed on the forced program that you want to run outside of Sandboxie.

I don't know which beta version you have, you might need to get the latest for this new functionality.

I've installed 3.43.05 and I tried the sequence that you wrote and I got the message "Could not start Sandboxie Control program."

The previous test, disabling the forced programs, Sandboxie Control was still active because I was able to run Firefox sandboxed by right clicking it and choosing Run Sandboxed.

Why would it tell you that it could not start Sandboxie Control? Wasn't it already running?

I don't know why.
That's the message that I got.
And, yes the Sandboxie Control program is active.
I tried starting the Resource Access Monitor to get some trace but I didn't get any.
So, I'm guessing that there is no trace for this feature.

I'm sorry, but I don't really know what to tell you. Maybe try to uninstall Sandboxie and reinstall it with fresh configuration and see if that makes any difference.

I uninstalled and installed with fresh configuration and it didn't help.
Hope that in a future version the problem might be fixed on its own.
