In my point of view whether this is a portable or permanent installation is not relevant. Please do not use your personal licenses on computers that you do not own.

I won't, but can i ask then if i'm allowed to use the unregistered version?

Darn it Tzuk, look at Mojopac and tell me what it has that Sandboxie doesn't, minuse some usability tweaks and horrible privacy policy. ;D

You can use the unregistered version, but only if it's not used for commercial purposes. If you're going to integrate Sandboxie into your business processes somehow, then that would count as commercial use.

SBIE Portable ini

Hello again!

Ok, now that that's cleared, can someone explain why there are 2 ini files? Or rather, what's the purpose of the portable one? I'm finding the readme file a bit confusing. It seems more of a FAQ than a readme, for people who already know something i clearly don't.
This is an attempt at constructive criticism note, maybe it could be improved. I hope i can help with that at least :/

And another one is, in order to keep the contents of the sandbox, do i need to set it to the portable drive, or does SBIE Portable back up the sandbox? What is backed up in general, the SBIE ini file and..?

TIA!

I tested it with lastest version of Sandboxie (version 3.442 | 17 April 2010) and works perfect Very Happy

although... a mere detail, it leaves some registry traces:

Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{8ECC055D-047F-11D1-A537-0000F8753ED1}\0000]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Deleted Device IDs]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_SBIEDRV\0000]
"Capabilities"=dword:00000000
"Class"="LegacyDriver"
"ClassGUID"="{8ECC055D-047F-11D1-A537-0000F8753ED1}"
"ConfigFlags"=dword:00000000
"DeviceDesc"="SbieDrv"
"Driver"="{8ECC055D-047F-11D1-A537-0000F8753ED1}\\0000"
"Legacy"=dword:00000001
"Service"="SbieDrv"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_SBIEDRV\0000\Control]
"*NewlyCreated*"=dword:00000000
"ActiveService"="SbieDrv"

Nothing more, thank you wraithdu for make and maintain this utility, I'm waiting for newer and better versions of SandboxiePortable!

Thanks. The first two don't look like I should touch them. The last one can be handled. What OS are you running if you don't mind me asking?

BTW, I think I'm going to rewrite SBP in AutoIt eventually. It's much my preferred language compared to NSIS.

The first two entries are keys or "empty folders" created by Sandboxie or/and your program. And I'm running Windows XP SP3 (Spanish version). Laughing

So you are going to use AutoIt? very good choice, I'm an experienced user creating scripts with it and I want to recommend two famous apps that use AutoIT, one is "Portable-VirtualBox" and the other is "Universal Extractor".

Thanks. I've written my fair share of AutoIt apps and have tons of stuff on the forum. Maybe (?) the most widely known is EraserDrop from PortableApps, not to mention a decent handful of stuff on here. It was just that SBP was written before I started learning AutoIt and I never got around to migrating the code.

I tested with the recently version 3.46 of Sandboxie and still works fine, no problems and leaves no new traces.

Thank you again wraithdu!

I use SandboxiePortable_2.3.0.4. After applying CrashCleanup.exe and launch SandboxiePortable.exe, Sandboxie is installed by default and places Sandboxie.ini in% windir%. If the removal occurs with SandboxiePortable.exe, then everything is fine. What's the problem? Can be used SandboxiePortable.exe with key for removal?

Can respected wraithdu make one file (using the keys / i / r) to install or remove Sandboxie Portable and SandboxiePortable.ini to select the language?

I obviously have no problem with anyone creating their own portable launchers or software... but please start your own thread to advertise it. I have no interest in comments about or troubleshooting someone else's software in my thread.

I should also point out that I have permission from tzuk to publish my launcher for Sandboxie. Please take a moment to respectfully ask for his permission as well.
