Problem Description: This problem started occurring today (6/3/2010); before today, this problem did not exist for me. When visiting Netflix to view an instant watch movie with Sandboxie, I am receiving the following error:

Code:

Digital Rights Management (DRM) Error
Error Code: N8151

We're sorry, but there is a problem playing protected (DRM) content on your system.

To resolve this problem:

1. Close your browser.
2. Then reopen the browser and try playing again.

If the problem persists, call Netflix at ...

This occurs on both of my machines when trying to watch Netflix in Sandboxie. It does not occur when watching Netflix outside of Sandboxie. The machine details are as follows:

>Sandboxie version: 3.45.07

It might not be the solution to your problem, but I'm curious why you wouldn't at least use the latest version of Sandboxie (3.45.14) before starting a bug report session?

I just tested it on 64-bit 3.45.14 (latest beta) and it still doesn't work.

Your Silverlight 4, is it installed in the sandbox or outside the sandbox?

A new version of Silverlight was released today in Microsoft Updates. I got it and tried it, but it still doesn't work.

I deleted everything from the sandbox, extracted Silverlight.exe into a folder on my Desktop, ran install.exe from that folder in Sandboxie, went through the install, relaunched Netflix, and still get the error.

I noticed that even when Full Access is allowed to the Microsoft Silverlight directory in the Program Files directory that it still doesn't work.

This does not have be related to Silverlight. It was just an idea. And I'm afraid I don't have any other ideas.

Well, if I'm reading the resource monitor correctly.. it's not showing what needs access. Here's an up-to-date resource access monitor log for Vista 64-bit, Sandboxie 64-bit version 3.45.14:

It seems to me, since it was working fine on both machines prior to the 3rd, that there had to be some kind of update that caused it. I only remember there being one required windows update / microsoft update for the week. I'm thinking it could have been a change to the Netflix player on their website. It could have possibly been an update to something like Flash or Silverlight, because I'm sure I have them set to automatically update... However, I got an update on my Vista 64-bit machine for Silverlight after this started happening, from Windows Update.

Just wanted to add a ME too. All of the sudden the wife and kids were asking me why it doesn't work. Just like the first post...outside Sandbox it works...otherwise no go.

I have Flash version 10.0.45.2, which is the latest, but was released back in February.

I have Shockwave version 11.5.6r606, which is not the latest, but was released back in January; I am going to update to 11.5.7.609, which is the latest, but it requires a restart.

I have Silverlight version 4.0.50524.0, which as far as I can tell is the latest and was the one released on the 3rd/4th of this month. I don't know if there's any way to downgrade Silverlight, but I may uninstall it and see what happens.

I don't think there's been any updates to my browsers during this time.

I'm pretty sure this is a problem that will affect everybody using Sandboxie with Netflix, because it happened on both my XP and Vista machines. I'd like to hear of someone else testing it though.
