This week Microsoft released it's new Windows Live Essentials Beta that includes an updated Windows Live Mail package.

I have tried running it with the latest Sandboxie beta 3.45.21 and it will fail to run throwing up an error message:

"Windows Live Mail could not be started. It may not be installed correctly. Make sure your disk is not full or that you are out of memory. (0x80041161)"

When the new Windows Live Mail is run unsandboxed it is fine. I have tested on both 32bit and 64 bit Windows 7.

The "old" Live mail program runs fine sandboxed.

Try this please. Go to Sandboxie Control > Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > IPC Access > Direct Access, click add, then paste:

\RPC Control\LiveIdSvc

Click OK all the way back, and try again. That fixes the problem for me. If it fixes the problem for you as well, I will add this to settings in Sandboxie for Windows Live Mail.

That is the solution, the problem is fixed.

Windows Live Mail Beta SBIE 2102 File message

Last night I installed 3.45.22 on Windows 7 that has Windows Essentials Live Mail Beta installed.

I accepted and added when prompted the Windows Live mail addition that was built into the .22 version to correct not being able to run the program Sandboxed. Live now opens and receives mail okay but with this version I'm seeing:

"SBIE 2102 file is to large to copy into the sandbox. wlc5E93.tmp" This message seems to appear after mail is opened a while or when closing mail.

Can this be corrected? I never saw it on other Sandboxie or other Windows Live Mail versions?

Thanks in advance.

I also note that this new 3.45.22 beta seems faster than other versions when opening and running IE8.

One possibility is to increase the file size in the Sandboxie File Migration settings:
http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?FileMigrationSettings

Increasing the file size setting will enable larger files to be copied into the sandbox, and therefore take a bit longer when running.
It kind of depends on how big that temporary file is, and how big it will get in the future, as to whether or not you want to change this setting. Try setting it to something like 61440 KB (60 MB).
Try to find where the temporary file is being created and how large it is.

I increased the file size and it resolved the problem as you suggested. Thanks.
