Hi!
Same problem with Reader X and Windows XP SP3. The Firefox plug-in shows "An internal error occurred" and "Microsoft Visual C++, Runtime Error!". Hope you can fix this soon. Thank you! Kind regards, Michael |

that mode wont work in sandboxie (for now,may be fixed sometimes), but outside
concerning firefox and other browsers - it may now safer to show pdf in browser - but i wont bet on it that the safe mode cant be broken. so i dont use it. i use for longer now pdf xchange viewer and simple download of pdf files for reading offline. hth |

After upgrading to 10, I too get an internal error when trying to view PDF files in a sandboxed IE6/8. I use the latest stable Sandboxie.
There's no problem in unsandboxed browsing. There's no problem in sandboxed browsing with Adobe Reader's protected mode OFF. |

Thanks, I was able to reproduce and fix the problem, I hope you will be able to confirm this when I release the next beta build.

I looked into this today and was able to get the Sandboxie and Adobe Reader Protected Mode to work together. The two sandbox approaches did conflict to some extent but I could (and actually had to) get Sandboxie to override the Adobe Reader Protected Mode.
I hope you will be able to confirm that it works, when I release the next beta build. |

Note this: even with Adobe Reader's protected mode OFF, IE8 still gets crashed when you try to initiate a PDF upload (that's right). I have no idea where does Adobe Reader take the nerve to be loaded at that stage, but apparently it does (the error is by Adobe Reader). So if your solution involves turning off Adobe Reader's protected mode on the fly, it may not help.

I did a search for Reader but for some reason didn't see this post. Glad it's been verified. Hope to see the beta update soon tzuk; guess I'll see if I can delete my last post.

Just verified. Beta version indeed fixes the issues both from direct viewing as well as browser viewing (IE8). Thanks a heap tzuk.

Adobe Reader still tells me that it can't use its own sandbox.
