I had problems with Sandboxie and eDocPrinter which I reported in http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=10021

I reinstalled Sandboxie (after uninstalling it), the problem with eDocPrinter sorted itself out but I now notice that although programs are marked as being Sanboxed it's obvious that they are not.

"All Files and Folders" no longer show "Users" folders and other folders that I am familiar with when running Firefox, IE8, Thunderbird.

I also installed a program Sandboxed only to find it in my "Start" folders.

This happened in v3.52 and also with v3.53.05

Using Windows7 x32 SP1

Any help will be appreciated very much.

Can you list the settings for a sandbox that displays this problem, by pasting a copy of its settings into a post?
Maybe some setting is allowing things out of the sandbox.

Or, create a new sandbox with default settings, and try things there.

I assume you mean what shows under "Edit Configuration", see below.

I did a clean install, the settings were default settings.
I also created a second sandbox, same problem.

kerflot, I see you have Template=eDocPrinter.

Unforunately the settings for eDocPrinter are broken. They assume a default setting for eDocPrinter data folder as ??? and then set an exclusion on that folder. So you have an built-in exclusion for ???. Which was fine in previous verrsions. But recent versions of Sandboxie add ? as a wildcard character. So ??? basically matches everything.

Long story short: I'm sorry about this mess, and I will be changing the default eDocPrinter folder to \UNKNOWN.

As a solution you should go to Sandbox Settings > Applications > Folders, and select the proper eDocPrinter folder.

Many thanks tzuk and Guest10, that seems to have done the trick.
I still have "Template=eDocPrinter " under "[DefaultBox]" but in addition I now have a separate "[TemplateSettings]" section with Templ.eDocPrinter.username=(the path to EDP that I entered).

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

PS I'm looking forward to the changes, running programs is more important that EDP hanging, besides I have another PDF printer to fall back on in the mean time.

Sorry, eDocPrinter still doesn't work.

In "Folders" under "Default location" I get

" \UNKNOWN\PLEASE\SPECIFY\FOLDER\HERE\ "

Won't let me type over that.
Not sure where to enter it.

I've even removed and re-added the path under "Alternate location".

Sad

Yeah, you are not supposed to be able to type over that at all.
So I guess the wording is quite wrong and misleading.
I will change it to
\UNKNOWN\PLEASE\SPECIFY\ALTERNATE\LOCATION\

Thanks for that.
Are you any closer to getting eDocPrinter to work?

No. I wasn't aware there was a problem. In the other topic,

http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=10021

you concluded by saying everything fixed itself. If you still have a problem, I suggest you go back to posting in the other topic. As this topic is entirely about something else.

But in that topic I then said I was continuing it here.
I did that because I installed Beta 3.53 and just assumed it would be more appropriate here.

So, OK going back to the other topic.
