I apologise that my first post would be a problem topic.
I just reinstalled my OS and that would be an XP Pro SP3. Prior to this installation, i use sandboxie for dual clienting this game. http://allods.gpotato.com/
The problem is after reinstalling my OS, and running the game in Sandboxie, it just freezes after i click the login.
Yes i have tried running only a single instance of this program within the sandbox. Same results.

Normal: The below screenshot shows the usual after i click the login button, and runs normally.

Abnormal: When i run allods sandboxed, and after clicking the login button, it freezes as below. Also it is not maximized because the frozen program prevents me from using Print Screen.

The first thing that comes to mind is maybe Sandboxie is restricting internet access to Allods. But i have verified that all programs are allowed internet access.
So what could it be? is there a vital plugin or file that was needed by Sandboxie that was removed after i reinstalled my OS and formatted my harddrive?

If it was a program clash, then i wouldn't have been able to use sandboxie prior to this incident. So its probably a configuration i'm not aware of. Also i've tried the latest sandboxie and 1 version before. Still the same issue.

Btw this game does not utilize protection software like GameGuard or Nprotect that might be preventing sandboxie from executing this software normally. Because as you can see, it is able to enter the game, just that when it tries to establish an internet connection to the game server, it freezes.

The reason why i keep saying the internet connection is cos for this game, when connectivity is lost, the same "freezing" at the login screen occurs.

So, I'd really appreciate it if someone could suggest that perhaps its some framework version i'm missing or some configuration i should have done.

Try version 3.55.06. It might not make a difference but there is no reason not to try it.

http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=10200

Also in case some sandbox setting that you applied is causing this problem, I suggest you create a new sandbox and try to start the game in this new sandbox.

I'm having the exact same problem with the game!

What I think happened somehow, is that when you run the game sandboxed, it doesn't register the update after the patch, and thus treis to run the old version of the game. I've uninstalled both the boxie and the game, and tried reinstalling it. Also downloaded the entire game from scratch and installed again. I've installed different versions of sandboxie. Even before I run anything, I go to check out the folders in the sandbox, and there is always the allods folder in there, even though I haven't run anything.

I guess it's maybe picking up some sort of logged information. Any way to somehow erase any data or logs that stay behind even after uninstalled?

Also just to specify:

I've tried using the latest version, no go.
I know a friend who told me she had to uninstall and reinstall the sandboxie for it to work, so I know that even after the patch, the game does work.
The settings used are the standard setting, I haven changed anything.
I tried using a fresh new box and still no go.

Hope there might be something that can be done @_@

You can try posting a Resource Access Monitor log, as explained here.

http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?ResourceAccessMonitor

It won't necessarily help here, but it certainly can't hurt to try.

I tried to reproduce this problem on 64-bit Windows 7 using both version 3.54 and version 3.55.07 but I did not see the problem of the game welcome screen locking up. I will try this on Windows XP and see if I get the problem there.

I recently downloaded Netlimiter which tracks all the system processes which utilize internet bandwidth.

Any system process or program which uses bandwidth will be shown on Netlimiter.

If i launch Allods normally, the transition from Launcher to Allods process can be seen on Netlimiter exchanging data.

However, when i execute this game via sandboxie, there's no registration of bandwidth being used on Netlimiter at all.

Currently my defaultsandbox has no restrictions whatsoever applied. It is fresh out of the box err installation Wink

nudecamel: Sandbox FireFox or other browser and download a big files. Check if NetLimiter notices the traffic.

IŽm not sure but IŽld say that NetLimiter doesnŽt notice the traffic generated by sandboxed applications.

that's an affirmative. even running other programs which requires internet access THROUGH sandboxie appears on netlimiter normally.

I have checked if the game changed ports or something and disabled Blockport. Same issue persisted and restored the settings as before.

I have uninstalled all my proxies which added network connections in case it confuses sandboxie.

The funny thing is, when i unplug my internet and try to log in, it is able to detect and say there's no internet connection. So sandboxie isn't "confused" Very Happy

nudecamel, apparently I missed something in my test, you say the freeze only occurs after you log in.
Well, I got to the login screen and it wasn't frozen and I thought that was good enough.

I did try to log in with fake credentials and I got a response that account name is not recognized, but no freeze. Can you confirm that when you enter invalid credentials there is no freeze?

And assuming you confirm this and I will need a valid account to see if I get the freeze/lock-up, hopefully they give accounts for free?
