Why would you d/l a program from an external 3rd party site, and then visit the official site only to access the forum whereas you could also goto the download section of the official site and get the latest version of the program. so while your here atleast visit the download section of this site and grab the latest version of the program. Anyways about the error, you get that message whenever you run ANY program in Sandboxie? |

It's possible that tzuk may have a suggestion for you, but since this is a Windows Error message and not a Sandboxie error message, you may not be able to get much help from other Sandboxie users.
Have you tried using the Windows Event Viewer to look for error messages? One way to access Event Viewer is by clicking 'Start' then 'Run', then type in the box: eventvwr You might want to first clear the events that were logged in the past, and then run a sandboxed program, so that the list of events you will be looking at won't be so large. To clear: click on 'System' in the left pane, to select it, and then click on 'Action' on the pull-down menu. Click on 'Clear all Events' and decide if you want to save the list of past events - probably just click 'No' here. Close the Event Viewer window and try to run a program in the sandbox. After receiving the error message, go back to Event Viewer to see what's there. Click on 'System' and then look for 'Error' messages in the right pane. Double-click each message to see if there's any useful information. That's about the extent of my suggestions. Hope it helps in some way. |

thank you paul for your suggestion.
i tried the windows event fiewer as you described it. the only thing i get is the "i"-nformation sign, telling an application popup when i check the system pane after trying to run a program sandboxed. so no detailed error messages can be found there. it must be some kind of problem windows has, when i try to run sandboxie. sandboxie is started successfully, when i start my computer, and i can see the icon in the right corner at the bottom. the only thing is, that i can not use the program because of the 0xc0000142 error. but thank you for showing me the event fiewer - which might be useful for further purposes. emcq |

Sorry to hear it didn't help.
As SnDPhoenix has recommended, if you haven't already done it download the latest version of Sandboxie using the "Download" link at the top of this Forum page. Naturally, you'll want to choose the one that is for Windows XP 32 bit or 64 bit, depending on your computer. Personally, I would uninstall the version you have now, and then install it fresh. Also, don't use any type of download manager if you have one, to avoid getting a flawed download. |
