The past week or so, firefox under 2.86 seems to be freezing every few seconds for like 5 seconds at a time.

Whether scrolling, typing, etc., it locks up, then all of a sudden the keystrokes or mouseclicks in the buffer flush and continue on.

I have not installed any new software or made any system changes.

Running Vista Ultimate 32 bit and it worked fine prior to this....

When I run ff outside of SB I do not experience this issue.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks,
Mark.

I dont use vista and dont have freezes, but from time to time FF occupates 100% cpu from time ti time for 5 secounds or so, same with outlook, may have the same reason as your problem.

Just tried this on a Vista updated with all the latest updates. Can't see this happen. Did you enable any mouse gesturing or keyboard macro features, recently?

Then maybe a Sandboxie trace would reveal the activity that is causing Firefox to halt?

Edit Sandboxie.ini near the top, to say:

FileTrace=ad
KeyTrace=ad
IpcTrace=ad
PipeTrace=ad

And then restart Firefox. You view the output on DebugView. Be sure to clear that ouptut (Ctrl+X in DebugView) once Firefox has finished loading, to keep the trace small and manageable. Also, if possible, don't browse. Only move the mouse around until you get the hang, then see if that has caused information to appear in the trace.
