Hi,
Thanks for the info. I am not a technical person so I don't really know how to implement the solution you mentioned. Let me know when the touchpad bug is fixed. I would like to purchase then. Thanks, Tom |

i doub't tzuk is waiting for people that are too lazy to even take a look at how sandboxie works and how it's configured correctly. Change the attitude man... you'll have a great time with sandboxie when you just read a bit and be nice and show some effort. |

Quote: My solution was. I had to run two additional applications from the touchpad directory within the sandbox. I found this application while exploring the Task Manager processes. I found SynTPEnh.exe and SynTPLpr.exe as processes in the Task Manager. Both processes are for the Synaptics touchpad installation. How do I implement this solution? Do I just add the name of these exe files to the "Forced Programs" list? Something else? Details please. Thanks, Tom |

that might work...
but maybe that prevents the touchpad from working OUTside the sandbox... you'd have to try it first... just manualy start the touchpad applications in the sandbox and try if it works... if it does... report back here we can help you out. |

Now that GuiTrace is available in the latest beta, I have the following suggestion for people who need work-arounds to get the touchpad to work.
Turn on trace with GuiTrace=ad and see if the sandboxed program is trying to send messages to any windows outside the sandbox. |

I've got the same Synaptics touchpad bug on my laptop at home. Here's what I got with the GuiTrace and v2.94.25 -

Sorry, not helpful. There's hardly anything in there. But try this.
Use a tool like WinSpy and look at the windows, if any, that were created by the processes SynTPEnh.exe and SynTPLpr.exe which you should have running. If they have any windows, look what window classes these are, and add OpenWinClass statements in Sandboxie.ini, DefaultBox section: OpenWinClass=ExampleWindowClassName Then reload configuration and try again. |

Then you were not paying attention when you read the initial 2.9x release notes...

I tried all -
OpenWinClass=CTouchPadSynchronizer OpenWinClass=SynTrackCursorWindowClass OpenWinClass=ScrollerooWindowClass OpenWinClass=SynTPEnhWndClass OpenWinClass=SynTPEnhTrayWndClass OpenWinClass=#32769 OpenWinClass=MSCTFIME UI OpenWinClass=IME That was everything listed under SynTPEnh.exe (the other exe is not running). No luck. Anything else to try? |

Ya know what? I was gonna install an updated driver from HP for this in the hopes that maybe something changed. So I uninstalled the old Syn driver first and tested it out before I installed the new one.....guess what? I can now scroll in Firefox. Drivers? We don't need no stinkin drivers.

Haha, that seriously worked? What a simple fix. I too had a similar experience, one time i had this one particular mouse (which i dont have anymore) that wasnt working correctly, so i decided (like you) to try and uninstall the mouse drivers, and then install updated drivers, and before i even installed the updated drivers, i noticed my mouse was now working fine since i uninstalled the drivers, go figure.
