Hi,

I am hoping for some advice, I am running Windows 7 and Sandboxie 3.64 (32 bit).

CapsHook.exe is a small utility from Asus that runs in the background and notifies you via the Notification Area if you enable/disable the Caps Lock. It is only visible in the Notification Area whilst Caps Lock is enabled.

Whilst using Sandboxed Chrome the utility does not work, however, if I click out of the Chrome window it works.

Does anyone know how I could let this utility work with Sandboxed Chrome?

I have a Default Sandbox, using Drop My Rights only. In the default config all programmes are allowed to start/run. I cannot see any mention of CapsHook.exe in the exclusions list within Sandboxie either.

I would appreciate any advice,

Cheers,

Adam

If there is a free download for this utility somewhere, and assuming the program doesn't restrict itself to ASUS computers, then I can try to reproduce the problem and identify the necessary settings.

Otherwise please have the Resource Access Monitor from Sandboxie open in the background while you try to exercise the caps lock program, and then post the resulting log here. Information about the Resource Access Monitor here:

Thanks for your reply.

The utility can be downloaded from http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Eee+PC+1015PX&p=20&s=1
Select, (Windows 7 32bit) Utilities, and then CapsHook Utility

If you have any problems running it please let me know and I will get the details you need with the Resource Access Monitor.

This is fixed in version 3.65.01 which you can download here:

http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=12517

Alternatively, open Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > Window Access, click Add and paste:
$:CapsHook.exe
