welcome mypenry, like your motto. That is very doable - I don't use FF but many other seasoned, hardened, sandboxie members do. Sit tight, you'll be good to go. And again welcome

I believe it is (from the task bar right click) Open Main Window - Configuration - Sandbox settings - set file copy options - check bottom box - configuration - reload configuration.
that is at least most of it - maybe openfilepath for the addons or just wait. |

no it's not wrong that's probably just the favorites - but the rest of the stuff is easy and doable - I just want you to get it perfect from a user
also dont forget to reload configuration with all changes. |

You say you're running FF portable? My guess is that the 'Run Default Browser' is starting firefox.exe. To correctly run FF Portable, you need to launch the browser via FirefoxPortable.exe.
Can you try right-clicking FirefoxPortable.exe and choose 'Run Sandboxed' and see if you have the same problem? I run FF Portable all the time without issue. |

Is your PortableFirefox installed on a hard drive, or on a flash drive?

Thanks to all who replied, well ive just tried wraithdu's advice ..( you need to launch the browser via FirefoxPortable.exe. ) and when I do this FF loads as my default Browser Ok and now its showing all my add on's Etc, so many thanks for the info, and Paul_K my FF is on a flash drive , so is there any thing more
I should know about running Sandboxie if my default browser is on a flash drive...? Many Thanks Mypenry |

Nope, just that you have to launch FF Portable via the launcher. You'll probably need to change (within windows) your default browser to point to the FF Portable launcher if you want the 'Launch Default Browser' functionality of Sandboxie to work correctly.

Thanks wraithdu , for the advice ....
as you can see I am a complete newbie to sandboxie so this question may sound dumb … at the moment my FF browser is running in sandboxie And ive downloaded a pdf file ok and used the quick recovery default Box to recover the file to the same folder OK, if I downloaded say an application That contains a virus Etc, and I then wanted to recover it from Sandboxie To my HDD, how would I know that the application locked inside Sandboxie Contains a Virus..? have I missed some thing in my reading up on Sandboxie Some where …? Many Thanks mypenry |

No you haven't missed anything. Sandboxie is not an AV scanner. If you want to be sure an EXE you've downloaded does not have a virus, you're still going to need to scan it, whether it is a background scanner or on-demand scanner is up to you of course.
