Version 2.8 of McAffee SiteAdvisor downloaded itself automatically today (previously v2.6 I think) and now it no longer works in Sandboxie i.e., the ATL:* fix doesn't appear to be relevant. The McAffee website forums say that v2.8 has a "complete new code base" so this could explain it. Has anyone else got this problem with v2.8 and has anyone got a workaround?

Join the Club. I've still got 2.6. After Numerous Problems a few Months ago with Site Advisor not working until tzuk "Fixed" it, a week ago it started again, (Not Working), and to top it off, it's decided to drop down from the Spoofstick Tool-Bar and make a "New-One" just for it self. Needless to say, I'm were not the only one with these Problems, and the McAfee Forums are as useless as a piece of S**t.

I don't think tzuk is going to Bother trying to Fix a Problem Created by McAfee. After all you really don't need it if you're using Sandboxie.

It's one of the Best Damned Programs, Bar None.

Oh yea. I did try the Newer Version, 2.8. I even tried the McAfee Program Remover before Reinstalling.

BLOODY PIECE OF "CRAP" SOFTWARE.

Good Luck.

Also if I may add to this, instead of using site advisor, try using the WOT addon instead, it is just like Site Advisor, but 10 times better!
Honestly, I never even bothered with Site Advisor cause I thought it just sucked, plus it is made by McAffee....

I tried to test it for ya but I could not find an independent download for 2.8. So I installed 2.6 and tried to update it and got this;

But I will tell you this; In searching for the download, all I found was horror stories.....

I got version 2.6 too. Can't find version 2.8 anywhere.

That depends entirely on the "problem". For example if SiteAdvisor stops using random ATL:* names internally for its resource, and makes it possible for me to add a pre-defined exclusion for it, then I will be happy to fix that problem.

Apparently, you are one of the 'lucky' ones who get to try out the latest beta version of SA. I couldn't find it as a download, so I'm guessing that you can only get it as an automatic update, for now. I did find a lot of messages complaining about problems with that version.
Have you considered uninstalling it, and either download it again (and install the old version), or use SnD's suggested alternative of WOT (as I am now trying out in Firefox). It's also available for IE.
So far, my only complaint about WOT is that it's tool bar icon keeps coming back to the tool bar after I use Firefox's Customize feature to remove it.

Thanks for you comments and advice guys. As you have pointed out the SiteAdvisor site still has the old version, so I have uninstalled v2.8 and downloaded v2.6 again. It hasn't automatically updated to v2.8 yet so is working fine. I have also taken SnD's advice and downloaded WOT which works without needing to change the settings in sandboxie and looks like a good/ possibly better alternative.
