Like the title. Videos on tv.yahoo.com play choppy and without sound in Firefox when DMR is enabled. Here's a test link -

Tried 3.33.07. Had the same choppy video with no sound when viewing YouTube video with SBIE's DMR enabled.
Disable SBIE's DMR and the video plays okay. This is a major setback. |

Well, I tried 3.33.07 with DropAdminRights set to yes (I'm on XPHome SP1) and watched the episode 'Earthlings Welcome Here' from wraithdu's link with no problems. I get both picture and sound and there is no choppy audio/video. EDIT: I use k-meleon as my browser.
Whoa! I'm sure tzuk will investigate but, in the meantime, let's not get carried away |

Forgot to mention that it only happen on Vista and using FF browser. Not sure about Vista and IE browser.
No problem with running SBIE's DMR on Windows XP. It's not really a major setback. However, YouTube is immensely popular and used in my environment that this version is a no-go on my Vista for SBIE's DMR. |

Sorry, just got a chance to check back here. I had the problem with Sandboxie's DMR with both FF and IE. With SB's DMR off both work OK. They also work OK un-sandboxed with the normal DropMyRights app.

Still have the same issue with 3.33.07 and FF 3.0.5 or IE7. It seems to be a more general problem with Flash. I can't get sound on any flash based games either, for example from games.yahoo.com.

Yes, Vista SP1, Flash 9.0.124.0.
I just noticed an updated flash player. Lemme update it and try again. |

The security update for the 9 series (if you want to stay with that) is 9.0.151.0 You could also try the updated flash 10 (10.0.12.10 or something like that) |

Same thing with flash 10.0.12.36. Even the version checker page has no sound - http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome
That page will show what versions of Flash and Shockwave are installed, and should have rollover sound effects. |

These 2 IPC exclusions get audio working again, but only seem to be needed when SB's DMR is enabled. Any security problems with these tzuk?

Sorry guys, couldn't reproduce these problems with Sandboxie 3.33.07. I tried on Vista, IE and Firefox, I tried the Flash version check site, and YouTube. All work well, and when I searched my system for
using Process Explorer > Find Handle, nothing came up. Wraithdu can you identify the process these resources belong to? |

You tried with SB's DMR enabled, right?
Anyway, how would I go about finding what process uses those resources? I found them using SB's Resource Access Monitor. When DMR was enabled, the MAPPING_ resource showed up as blocked. Then when I allowed that one, the next run showed the EVENT_ resource. After allowing both, audio was back on flash sites. What version of flash were you trying? I had the problem with flash 9 and 10. Here's a bit of the monitor with DMR and the exclusions active. I also could not find those resources with Process Explorer.

I tried with Drop Rights in effect, yes, and Flash version 10.
Are you sure that if you type SYSTEM_AUDIO into Process Explorer > Find menu > Find Handle or DLL. Then you get no results? I got no results, but then again my audio and video were working fine. |
