I just installed 3.39.13, and I am getting a DEP message shortly after launching Outlook. I had it 3 times in a row so far.

After Outlook loads on my system, I typically get a pop-up reminder window of any past due tasks or appointments and a reminder tone. Now after launch, I hear the tone, but the reminder window does not pop-up and shortly after I get the DEP. When I click don't send to Microsoft, Outlook closes.

Everything was working fine with settings you gave me in the .12 version.

Any idea what's going on here?

What is a DEP message? A crash?

Ah, ok, I too see a crash in Outlook, and I could easily recognize this has to do with something I changed in version 3.39.13. (Not related to Outlook or to what we discussed in this topic.)

Sorry about that.

You should go back to version 3.39.12 and apply the custom settings. You might want to try again with version 3.39.14 when I release that.

Yes, DEP is short for Windows Data Execution Prevention message.

No problem. I can use .12 for now, and I will give .14 a try when you release it.

So far, 3.39.14 seems to be working fine with Outlook.

Thanks again!

Just a follow-up on this topic. Outlook 2007 is able to access the Windows Desktop Search Index database while sandboxed, but it seems like WDS is not able to update changes in Outlook while sandboxed. When Outlook is unsandboxed, there seems to be active communication with WDS.

Does this make any sense?

Thanks,

Dave

I can reproduce the problem. Version 3.39.16 does not address it, but I'll look into it towards the next beta version.

Alright, I think I figured it out, but I want to look into a couple of more issues before I release the next beta version.

So far, it appears that I am getting two-way communication with the WDS index in sandboxed Outlook 2007.

I will keep testing this release and let you know if I run across any issues.

Thanks again!

I don't think we are quite there yet. Even after indexing is complete, I get the following message under search results:

Search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed. Click here for more results.

When I click there I get a window saying Outlook is currently indexing your items and some additional information.

When I reopened Outlook unsandboxed it spent some time indexing. After that was complete, I did not get the message after doing a search.

I will keep you posted on any additional findings.

I know that Outlook doesn't get back status updates on the indexing process.
Unfortunately that is going to be a limitation of the sandboxed Outlook.
But I did not get the impression that anything was left out and not indexed.
So the limitation is cosmetic, at least in my experience.
Is that the same for you?
