Or download an earlier version of Eraser. I still have a version that identifies itself as 5.86.1, which I no longer see on their downloads page.
V5.8.8 may be a good version to use, if you don't want to use my favorite for use with Sandboxie: SDelete.

Just tried SDelete, same RedX problem, it is still has the RedX after opening the browser. My browsers are forced to run sandbox.
Both of the programs have the same problem, could it be a sandboxie problem?
Hopefully this can be resolved.

Another problem I found is sometimes browsing with Opera 10.10 the browser will freeze, lock up.
Then if I right-click on the Sanboxie tray icon Opera will go back to normal (unfrozen).
Never had this happen in older versions.

My HIPS caught new behavior when running IE sandboxed (3.43.10) on Windows 7 (Vista and XP are unaffected):

Quote:
1/3/2010 22:16:35 Create new process Permitted
Process: c:\program files\sandboxie\sbiesvc.exe
Target: c:\program files\sandboxie\sbiesvc.exe
Cmd line: "C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\SbieSvc.exe" Sandboxie_ComProxy_S-1-5-21-25130506-776034094-9161161-1001_DefaultBox_1_:

IE will not execute sandboxed unless I permit this. Not a problem; just an observation.

nick s -- this is almost certainly related to the change I made for this problem:

http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=6837

I added a built-in exclusion for the "Network List Manager" COM object, and your IE on Windows 7 must be using this service. Accessing COM objects outside the sandbox involves the start-up of these extra SbieSvc processes.

It is indeed. Thanks for the explanation.

I've been using Malware Defender along with Sandboxie since December 2008.

Trying to post this in IE8 is almost impossible, after I get past the original sized box (jumps around!).

Win7 (32), A2 paid, PC Tools FW, IE8.

I recently upgraded from XP Pro to Win 7 (4days ago).
I imported my IE7 cookies (145), into Win 7's IE8.

Problem- I "can" auto-open any web sites that have a saved login (i.e. Hotmail, Gmail, sbie forum...) "in regular IE8",
but then when I try to open them from favorites in sbie- I have to enter the username/password every time?

I've tried several different ways of deleting/importing cookies, but didn't help?- I've even cut/pasted...
I've also tried deleting all Google/Hotmail/Gmail cookies (CCleaner Options/Cookies...), and making new ones- didn't help.

I've also tried removing & replacing IE8 in Internet options.

One thing I noticed that you may be able to easily duplicate?
When I change Google default "Search Settings" in regular IE8 to-
English pages only
show 30 pages
Do not filter search results
Save Preferences
The cookie changes do not carry over to sbie!?

Other thoughts- Win 7 is maybe a "little faster" than XP Pro, but IE8 is sooo problematic (can't run IE7 in Win 7)!- I'm thinking of switching back to XP!

Google cookie info NEVER carries over to sbie?
Scott ?

On Windows 64 Home Premium and testing 3.43.14.

My WLM when sandboxied cannot sign in. I run the repair function and noted that the tick is missing on "Hosts file".

Is this the cause ?

Now using Windows Live Messenger without sandboxie protection Twisted Evil

Guys, please report problems in the Problem Reports forum, otherwise it's going to be hard to keep track of multiple discussions in this single topic. Thanks!

I've just loaded the 64bit version on Win7, and it seems to work fine. My browsing life can now return to normal again. I'm so flippin' happy!

Thanks for making this available. The Kaspersky sandbox feature, while ok, was driving me to distraction sometimes.

The install program for 3.43.17 is now being flagged and deleted by Norton AV, as a threat.
I wonder if the recent reports of files masquerading as Start.exe had anything to do with it?
This is the second day that I've tried downloading it, but my friendly Norton keeps zeroing the downloaded file.
I'll try to find out if I can submit a link to them, for testing.

I'm not sure where their "File Thumbprint" came from.
It doesn't match the MD5 or SHA1 sums for the file.
http://virusscan.jotti.org/ found nothing, with 20 different virus scanners.
[Edit]After installing 3.43.17 with Norton AV turned off, a later scan with Norton showed no infected files in Sandboxie's Program Files folder.
So Start.exe is not what is being flagged. Just the installer program for 3.43.17.
