I assume all this happens with the 32-bit IE 8, right?

No, I think it is the 64 bit one. It is the IE 8 that comes in the Win 7 Professional 64 bit DVD.

Tzuk,
You were right. IE (x86) is the default browser. IE 64 bit cannot be the default browser as stated in Internet Options, Programs tab. To get around this I went to IE 64 bit and had it open Sandboxed and I got the following error message: SBIE2205 Service not implemented: CM_GDIP (2). As a result I can now save a web page but if I try to open an Office document in Yahoo Mail IE 64 bit freezes completely. The only way to close IE 64 bit in this situation is to do it in task manager. I tried this several times, deleting the default box, and I alway get the same result. |

I didn't mean to suggest that you should use a 64-bit browser. A lot of plugins don't work in 64-bit browsers, so it's not a good idea.
As for the crashes, I think I fixed that, you'll have to try again when I release the next beta version, soon. I can't easily reproduce the Office related problems at this time, because I don't have Office installed in my 64-bit machine, but let's see if the next beta version also fixes that problem. |

Thank you. I look forward to the next beta, and I'll let you know if the Office 2010 apps open and run properly.

Dear Tzuk,
Thanks for version 3.43.14. Now I can save anything and recover it without crashing IE. Here are some issues. When sandboxed: 1) IE always gives the message that the last session closed unexpectedly and do I want to restore or go to my default page. This happens even when I close IE properly before deleting the default box. 2) I always get the message that IE is not the default browser and do I want to make it the default browser. 3) On my Yahoo Mail webpage the indications of an attachment (a paper clip) are missing from all my e-mails where there is an attachment. I opened Yahoo Mail un-sandboxed to check, and the paper clips were all there. 4) When I open an e-mail where I know there is an attachment (Office or Adobe) I can download the attachment and I am given the following options, find, save, cancel. The open option is missing. I can save and recover, but if I try to open the attachment in Sandboxie I am told that there is no application to run it. This happens with Office and Adobe attachments. Outside of Sandboxie they open properly. 5) With IE sandboxed, certain images don't appear. I went to the Sandboxie site, clicked on Download and the image of the Sandboxie Control did not appear. There was just a box with an x in the upper left hand corner. The thumbnails in Google toolbar are replaced with a box. Francis |

I am sure version 3.45.15 will resolve at least some of these problems. Please try it.

Thank you for the version64 3.43.15 15 of Sandboxie
Pictures now appear on the internet. Internet Explorer still says that the previous session did not close properly and gives me the option to restore previous session or to open my default page. Regardless of which option I choose the following happens: Internet Explorer says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", then offers to"Diagnose Connection Problems". When I click on "Diagnose Connection Problems" a window appears saying "An error occurred while troubleshooting:", when I click on the "close" button of that window my default internet explorer page opens normally. I rebooted to see if this would happen again and it does, every time. Adobe file opens but will not recover. ASF file opens and plays in Windows Media Player. jpg will make Windows Photo Viewer open but the picture will not display. Opening attachments make the appropriate Office application load but the contents will not display and a window opens showing the following error codes. SBIE 2206, 2309,2312,2320. The only way to view the contents is to recover and then view un-sandboxed. Francis |

Thank you for version 343.16. There are still problems opening the browser to the default page though one can stop the opening of the page, and open from Favorites.
Also, Office applications will not open in Sandboxie when called to do so from attachments in e-mails. |

Of all your problems, I think I could only reproduce the one with the images.
I don't have Office installed into 64-bit Windows 7, however I installed Foxit Reader and the sandboxed IE had no trouble using it. Do you have a general problem with attachments or is it a progarm with Office products? What happens when you use Run Sandboxed to start an Office program under Sandboxie? |

I can open an Office application in Sandboxie. However, if I click on a attachment the Office application will not open. If I have the Office application open in Sandboxie it doesn't help. The needed application still does not open.
Windows Image Viewer will open but fail to display the image, ususally a jpg from an attachment. Adobe will open and display pdf files. The trouble I was having opening the browser to the default web page occurs only when going to mail.yahoo.com. If I make Google the default site it opens without a problem. |

Right, I see this too. I believe the difference is that mail.yahoo.com is a secure HTTPS site while Google is a regular site. For the secure site, it seems SandboxieCrypto.exe has to start in the sandbox, and this is probably part of the problem. But I need to look into this some more, so let me see if I can improve this.
Do you mean the built-in Windows Photo Viewer? When I right-click Run Sandboxed in a Windows Explorer view on some sample picture file, it seems to start sandboxed correctly, and load the image. And it also works correctly when I double-click on a picture file in a fully sandboxed Windows Explorer.
I see, but it will probably take me a while before I get around to installing Office into my 64-bit Windows. |

Version 3.43.18 should resolve the problem with mail.yahoo.com.
