If I download some .TTF font file and try to open it in a sandboxed Windows Explorer, I get an error:

The request file c:\path\to\font.ttf was not a valid font file.

I get this error whether the .TTF file is in a sandbox folder, or if I move it outside the sandbox.

Works fine with a normal Windows Explorer.

I should note, the sandboxed Windows Explorer can successfully open font files in C:\Windows\Fonts.

Is this another aspect of the problem described here?

The problem here is one: All the applications running in a sandbox, using the actual fonts in the directory C: \ Windows \ Fonts and do not use the fonts in the sandbox-> C: \ Windows \ Fonts.

Can you think of a way to reproduce this problem without installing Microsoft Office into the sandbox? It's not out of the question, but it is a large installation, I would prefer something smaller, if you have any ideas.

First, just try to install any fonts in the sandbox, as long as their was not in a real system, and try to open them.

Secondly, in the sandbox to create a document (*. txt), open your notebook, write the word and change the font. Fonts that are installed in the sandbox, there is no!

I've had a look into this and I believe I was able to fix every problem mentioned here, from the error related to MSOCache, through the issue with the Excel/Access manifest files, and finally the problem with the fonts. It will be a few more days before I release version 3.45.13, but I hope you will be able to confirm this at that time.

Old post about fonts missing, must create a new one.

beta ver. 3.45.13
1. I confirm that the installed fonts in a sandbox open by double-clicking.
2. I confirm that I have no problem with MSOCache, when you install MS Office 2007.

Now the problems:
1. Applications still do not see the fonts installed in the sandbox.
2. When you try to install MS Office 2010 in a sandbox, I get an error and installation stops. In ver. 3.45.12 was not observed.
3. When you run Photoshop CS5 (CS4), actual problem with the lack of memory.

The old topic is not missing, it was moved to some other forum.

Once you reply, I will merge this topic into the original topic, so don't be surprised when this topic seems to disappear as well.

* * *

1. Which application did not see the fonts in the sandbox? I tried Word and Excel, both saw the fonts in the sandbox.

2. I will check it.

3. Let's focus on Office in this topic.

I already wrote about it.
1. Install in the sandbox the fonts are not installed in the real directory C: \ Windows \ Fonts.
2. Start the "notepad" in the same sandbox, and try to change the font. Installed fonts do not see. And "Word" and "Excel" does not see the same fonts.

As for "Photoshop CS5 (CS4)", this is the error:

You're right, there was still a problem related to fonts, but it was only obvious on Windows XP. Initially I only tested on Windows 7 and the fonts worked fine there. Hopefully you will see this fixed in version 3.45.14.
