Sandboxie & Comodo Firewall conflict

After updating Comodo firewall yesterday to the latest version (5.0.162636.1135) I tried to run several applications sandboxed, but now I keep getting the following message: "SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service RpcSs (-1)".

I'm currently running on Sandboxie v3.48 (32bit). I've uninstalled and reinstalled Sandboxie and comodo. Sandboxie works fine when Comodo is uninstalled. So the problem seems to be that Comodo isn't getting along with Sandboxie.

If anyone else is seeing this problem then I'd like to know.

In any case I will look into this and let you know what I find out.

I have the same issue. After Comodo updated, Sandboxie showed this error. SBIE9153 Cannot start driver (SbieDrv)

After repeated attempts to restart and even reinstalling Sandboxie, I tried it after disabling Comodo, and it worked fine.

I am running 3.48 on XP SP3 32 bit.
I have this problem too

After the update to latest Sandboxie and the latest Comodo Firewall Sandboxie would not open any of the forced programs.
I uninstalled sandboxie and reinstalled 3.45 but still had the problem. I then uninstalled Comodo firewall and reinstalled the previous wersion. Note these two versions had work fine together in the past. However problem still persisted. I then uninstalled Comodo and activated Windows firewall as temporary measure and Sandboxie worked fine again..
That is how I have left things for the moment.

I haven't seen any conflicts between Sandboxie and this version of Comodo Firewall. My only guess would be they have Defense+ enabled, whereas I do not.

Seems Fazuul may be right about Defense+. I have just re-installed latest Comodo firewall without Defense+ and re-installed the latest Sandboxie 3.48 and all seems to work OK.
Thanks

I downloaded Comodo Firewall from the link in the first post, and I got COMODO Firewall version 5.0.163652.1142 which seems to be more recent than the version reported at the top post, version 5.0.162636.1135.

On Windows XP SP3, I'm not seeing any conflicts or problems.

Has this already been resolved by an update in COMODO Firewall ?

I upgraded to version 5.0.163652.1142 and I still get the same message: "SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service RpcSs (-1)". Disabling Defense+ Security does absolutely nothing.

Not really sure what to tell you. I installed COMODO onto my test system (which even already had AVG installed as I was looking into another problem) and then restarted the computer and I tried Run Any Program and Run Web Browser in Sandboxie and both worked fine with no error messages.

By the way SBIE2204 is not strictly an error message. It is issued when the sandboxed program has been waiting too long for SandboxieRpcSs.exe to start. If SandboxieRpcSs.exe eventually does start correctly then it means SBIE2204 was merely a warning saying things are taking too long.

So do you get SBIE2204 and stuff still works, or you get SBIE2204 and nothing works?

I receive the following:

Quote:
SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service RpcSs (-1)
SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service RpcSs (-1)

it will keep posting the same error message over and over. I am not able to sandbox any program. Nothing works.

I oringinally tried disabling Defense+ but like epitaph1 it made no difference.
What did work was to uninstall Comodo then re-install and when asked to choose Firewall only or firewall and Defense+ or the third option (can't remember actual wording) you select firewall only.
That at least worked for me. It means no Defense+ until this is resolved but I for one would sooner be sandboxed without Defense+ than the other way round.

FYI
I have just installed latest Comodo with Defense+ on my Windows 7 netbook and it runs fine with Sandboxie 3.46. Weird.
I will update Sandboxie on my netbook when the Check for updates actually says there is one. Which it doesn't at the moment.

For what it's worth, I selected the third option when I installed -- maximum protection, because I was aiming to make sure that Defense+ is going to be active.

I'm running the full COMODO "Internet security suite" and everything works perfectly fine.

Widows 7 64bit
Firefox

Thanks TZUK for making such a great program, wish I had known about it before I was INFECTED !!!
But now, all is well.
